Just back from responding to a client’s request to do a very well-worn tourist route that some tour companies do in a day: Edinburgh - Glen Coe - Fort William - Loch Ness - Pitlochry - Edinburgh. To do the route in only a day is to see Scotland through the window of a minivan, or at best, take photos from a busy kerbside. We believe in slowing the pace and visiting out of the way places by taking to foot, embracing the spirit of the place and engaging with its ancient history. Our 2 day tour ensures a meaningful quality of experience, visiting an Iron-age hill fort, hill sheilings, an embossed Pictish stone and a ruined cathedral, all avoiding the tourist crowds and seeing the great scenery at close quarters. The Roaming Scotland tour includes an ascent of a peak in the Glencoe area, giving a phenomenal panorama of sea lochs, Ben Nevis, the Mamore range of hills, the corrie girt Glen Coe, panning right round to the lonely expanses of Rannoch Moor. Check out our 2 day tour for the rest of the itinerary.
