The climb to the hilltop, where the finely crafted Three Brethren cairns stand, promises to make a memorable day out. Travel the heartlands of the beautiful River Tweed to either visit the magnificent hillside gardens at Dawyck, noted for their towering trees from around the world, or try the challenge of the maze at Traquair.

Itinerary for Scottish Borders Tour and Walk:

-    Drive south from Edinburgh into the wooded hillsides of the Borders region.       

-    Climb to the summit of the Three Brethren to admire the fine cairns built 500 years ago and enjoy the fine views with a picnic. Walk grading: A moderate to strenuous hill climb along well defined tracks and paths. Distance: 7kms. Height Gained: 380m.

-     Drive along the attractive Tweed valley, we can either visit the majestic trees and woodland gardens of the fine botanical gardens at Dawyck or visit Traquair and try its challenging maze. Admission is not included in the tour price.

-        Enjoy an afternoon coffee in one of these beautiful settings.
